Lady Frieda Harris, a student of Aleister Crowley, suggested a redesigned tarot based on the Book of the Law. She created the artwork for the for the major and minor arcanas, after direction from her holy guardian angel.
Aleister Crowley and Lady Frieda Harris collaborated on the deck working tirelessly to translate Crowley’s vision.
Harris’s art featuring the Kabbalah, astrology, alchemy, numerology, magickal correspondances, and The Book of the Law, were finished in 1943. Crowley died in 1947, and Harris in 1952. Neither would see the paintings published as tarot cards. The Thoth Tarot deck was published in 1969.
